Delugan Meissl Associated Architects (DMAA) designed a contemporary and sustainable home for H.O.M.E. magazine and set the bar to an all-time high. The home of the year 2021 breaks down barriers between the outdoors and indoors - DMAA moves Nature into your home.

For the second time in the magazine’s history, H.O.M.E. invited architects to design the house of the year for H.O.M.E. This is the second time H.O.M.E. devotes a whole issue to an extra-ordinary concept-home. Each page dissects a specific aspect of the project, from the heating system to air regulation, from the smallest details of the architecture to the grand scheme of interiors, complete with the suggestions of leading brands and H.O.M.E.’s editors. Not only that, but this is only the second time the plans and studies are available, along with the printed version, as a 3D model and a VR experience. It is a 360° form of communication - you can read, see, feel and experience it in person in Budapest at this year’s S/ALON BUDAPEST in the Budapest Arena, between September 24-26, where H.O.M.E. magazine will appear in collaboration with Solinfo Group, featuring interior details of Molteni&C.

It’s the first time visitors of S/ALON BUDAPEST will see a home that was designed by architects of DMAA as home of the year 2021 for H.O.M.E. magazine. It’s the first time Nature will be incorporated in a home, not the other way around. Outdoor and indoor areas will blend. The four architects are mostly known in Germany as the designers of the Porsche Museum, and now, they created something special. H.O.M.E.’s home of the year 2021 is geo-neutral and almost entirely CO2-neutral. It’s internal temperature always stays between 20 and 26 °C. The basis for this new home model was DMAA’s research of Asian greenhouses. DMAA is famous for its organic design - in H.O.M.E.’s home of the year 2021, architecture and people unite in perfect harmony.
