The S/ALON BUDAPEST design competition provides an annual opportunity for Hungarian designers, studios, and creators to showcase their creative vision based on a specific theme.
This year’s competition theme is light, focusing on its spatial-organizing power. Accordingly, the installations can incorporate various light refraction techniques, colored light sources, designer lamps, iridescent surfaces, and smart lighting solutions. We aim to realize designs that treat light as a multifunctional tool and boldly combine different techniques and materials.
The S/ALON BUDAPEST design competition closed on July 31, 2024. The event’s professional team selected 8 designers or design teams from well-developed and exciting entries to bring their concepts to life at the S/ALON BUDAPEST home trend exhibition, which will take place from September 20-22, 2024, at the Budapest Arena.

This year, we offered 8 separate spaces for designers and design teams to arrange according to their own ideas: they can create thematic interiors or abstract installations as well. Get to know them and check out their concepts at S/ALON BUDAPEST! |
