Mosolygó Levente

Levente Mosolygó is a recent graduate in industrial design from the Győr Széchenyi István University, Design Campus. The goal of his diploma project was to create an object that is completely open-source and can be made by anyone. He designed a lamp that utilizes both open design and design modding techniques, resulting in the tri-angle Ikea Frekvens hack. The product is fully 3D printable— "download it and print it"—as it requires no support materials. Every small detail has been optimized for 3D printing. The product uses Ikea Frekvens LEDs, which can be programmed to display any animation with the help of a Feather M0. By leveraging design modding and open design, the environmental impact of factories, transportation, and packaging can be bypassed.
