Sustainability starts small

Creative Energy: The New Online Magazine for a Conscious Lifestyle

Reimagined, high-quality, sustainable, durable, repairable, adaptable, renewable, value-preserving, eco-conscious

– just a few of the headlines from recent years, with which the Újra! magazine initially appeared in print, and later in an online, flip-through format. The new, sophisticated, clean, and versatile website continues to follow these same principles and themes.

The magazine has three main objectives:

  • To provide readers with ideas, inspiring thoughts, and practical examples for leading a conscious lifestyle and embracing sustainable hobbies.
  • To tackle awakening, fact-based, and motivating topics on issues that impact our future.
  • To give a platform to artists, craftsmen, and entrepreneurs who create high-quality, aesthetically pleasing works in the spirit of eco-consciousness and sustainability.

The new online conscious lifestyle magazine also has an unapologetic goal: to reach a wide audience with its light yet meaningful articles and video content, including those who are already actively involved in the fight for sustainability, those who have noticed the urgent cry for environmental action but have yet to take steps, and even those who have not yet paid much attention to global environmental changes.

I believe that "small is beautiful," and that alongside growth, sustainability must become both an economic measure and a perspective. I believe that instead of disposability, durability, and instead of waste production, repairing or recycling things is the path we urgently need to take on a global scale...

– shared her "credo" with readers, Krisztina Iványi, editor-in-chief of Újra! magazine and Senior Communications Specialist at MVM Paks Nuclear Power Plant Ltd. She is also the founder of the Creative Energy program, launched eight years ago and now embraced by the power plant as a social responsibility initiative. Perhaps these thoughts best encapsulate the magazine’s mission.

But before anyone assumes that yet another eco-warrior has appeared on the battlefield, brandishing a sword against the hesitant or inactive, let us reassure you: Újra! magazine doesn’t solely focus on environmental protection, nor is its goal to constantly sound the alarm or spread fear. It doesn’t pressure or fight; it simply presents: stories and people whose journeys can serve as examples for others.

“We try to talk about those big, distant, seemingly uncontrollable issues like sustainability, the circular economy, and conscious living in small, everyday ways, through everyday stories. Because we want to show that YOU CAN DO THIS TOO,” summarized Krisztina Iványi, highlighting the magazine’s mission.

It’s important to make people aware that contributing to sustainability isn’t something difficult or burdensome; even our hobbies can help create a more livable world.

Do-it-yourself activities, furniture painting, and the recycling of leftover or waste materials are all things that brighten up the grey everyday routine, offering an outlet for creativity while also promoting sustainability. The same goes for decorating with vintage items, balcony gardening, reimagining food leftovers, using community woodworking spaces, or practicing conscious self-care, to name just a few examples.

"We want to disprove sayings like, ‘Why should I do anything? One person is too insignificant to make a difference in such big issues.’ We believe that just as the vast ocean is made up of tiny drops of water, countless small acts of goodwill and determination can create a massive impact."

Anyone can be anything, and anything can be made from any source: you just have to give it a try.

– according to the editor-in-chief, this is the philosophy of the magazine’s creators.

Újra! Creative Energy online magazine for conscious living features sections like Home, Success Stories, Lifestyle, Recommendations, Circular Economy, and Video, where anyone can find the most interesting and motivating articles and reports for their interests. The new website includes analytical pieces, factual articles, interviews, success stories, step-by-step ideas and advice, as well as insights from recognized experts. In the Knowledge Base, readers can also find previous issues, videos, and tutorials from the Creative Energy program, all in the spirit of preserving values.

“What unites the people featured in our magazine is their shared effort to create a better, more livable world through their own actions, without waiting for others. This potential is latent in all of us. It’s up to us to give it the chance to blossom,” concluded Krisztina Iványi.
