The color trends of 2019

The start of the year is always exciting for interior designers, decorators and design enthusiasts. Leading brands, manufacturers and distributors are bringing out their big guns: showing off the latest trends and innovations that will have major impact on the world of design throughout the year. This is also the time for design fairs to kick off, serving endless inspiration to the experts and designers. 2019 will bring its fair share of exciting trends – read on for our list of the 4 best colors this year to make a mark on 2019!

Living Coral - Pantone

Pantone Color Institute has been announcing the “Color of the Year” since 2000. Two times a year Pantone organizes secret meetings of the minds for leading international color experts and design professionals to discuss the latest trends. The color of 2019 has been announced: “Living Coral”, a vivid, delightful color with strong character, making its mark in homes and in printed or digital media as well. Its dynamic, inviting look can be applied perfectly in social spaces as a dominant color, or as a complementary color in youthful, vibrant homes.

Night Watch - PPG

PPG is one of the world’s biggest paint manufacturers with a widespread business infrastructure covering more than 150 countries worldwide. According to PPG, the color of 2019 is “Night Watch”, a dark shade of green evoking classic luxury aesthetics and the calming, healing atmosphere of nature. PPG recommends applying Night Watch in a spacious dining room or for highlighting a wall in your bedroom. Because of its pleasant vibes and deep texture, it’s also perfect for social or business areas.

Metropolitan AF-690 - Benjamin Moore

The history of Benjamin Moore goes back to the end of the 19th century, when the Moore-brothers from Brooklyn have founded their paint business in 1883. Since then, Benjamin Moore has become one of the leading paint manufacturers in the US, as well as an inspiration for design experts and enthusiasts. This year, Benjamin Moore’s product range is dominated by pastel colors, including Metropolitan AF-690, which is a cold, neutral shade of grey. Metropolitan AF-690 can easily become the perfect counterpoint to a dark colored wall, and can be applied to doors and closet fronts just as well.
